Intelligence is one of the American Leopard Hound's best traits. Animals have love and affection for their families and they protect children. American Leopards are one of the largest canines in the United States and have excellent tracking abilities, often being able to track prey for miles.
The American Leopard Hound is a medium to large dog and comes in three styles: Solid, Leopard and Brindle; Nine different colors; and various signs, however, sixty percent​​​​ of all American Leopards are dark colored. Animals are common in hunting many types of game such as, but not limited to, raccoon, bear, bobcat, cougar, squirrel, and other wood game. As a particularly hardy animal, they are also very good in extreme weather, both hot and cold.
